I think the title sums this one up pretty well, this is just filler at this point.
I woke up in a frantic daze realizing I hadn't completed my Spanish homework that was due today at noon. I had emailed my professor that I would not be in class due to an apartment viewing in New York but I still needed to finish multiple questions regarding el fin de semana pasado. Naturally, I took the day off from the gym (only because I prioritize my academics as you all know; not because I was too lazy to go or anything). Anyways, after talking to my e-textbook for two hours about all the fun activities I did over the weekend, I submitted the assignment and immediately had to run out the door to catch my MegaBus. I quickly grabbed as many Clif Bars as I could; I always keep a box handy for those seven mornings throughout the week that I fail to get out of bed, hit the gym, and shower with enough time to make breakfast before my day starts.
I got to 30th Street Station at 12:15 pm with plenty of time to spare; despite the first paragraph I consider myself a punctual person. I told myself I would get the rest of my work done during the two and a half hour commute but just like everything anyone says to me, it went in one ear and out the other. It helps that my head is hollow between the ears. Instead, I ate two Clif bars and then passed out for the remainder of the journey. To my professors who read my blog (yes that's a thing) I did get it done, don’t you worry.
I got off America’s most reliable bus around 3:00 pm on Fashion Ave and immediately felt at home again. The smell of my favorite halal cart immediately engulfed my nostrils but I forced myself to wait until after I had seen the apartment in East Village. Discipline? Not familiar with her work. Luckily, I’m basically one of the locals now and can navigate the maze of a subway system that lies underneath the surface. I am one with the subway system as I, too, am very complex beneath the surface. So I got down to Union Square and decided to walk around a little. To my dismay, this is when the rain started. As you can see from my video (subscribe to my YouTube channel if you haven’t yet), I made the best of it as I always do. Ironically, I always have a blast when I’m alone in a whole new city with nothing to do and no one to talk to. The apartment viewing went very well, so I hunted down the nearest halal truck and spent way too much on a lamb gyro that I had to eat in the subway due to the rain.
On my way out, I tried to use the Javits Center bathroom and was immediately turned away as I did not have a ticket to the Tinker Toy convention or whatever it was. Instead, I took the selfie on the right and got on my way. I caught the 6:30 pm bus back to Philly, conveniently during my dinner time. After finishing a couple more Clif Bars, I procrastinated my work even further by editing some photos. I had a 10:00 pm intramural soccer game I had to get mentally prepared for so my homework could wait. I got back to my apartment around 9:30 pm and had to inhale dinner number two (premium lean ground beef) before I ran over to the game. Three goals later, I have so many hat tricks they think Magic Matt is an actual magician.
I documented the journey for your personal enjoyment above. Thanks for reading y'all.
